The Better Business Bureau of Greater Houston and South Texas has started to receive complaints regarding a mailing apparently coming from Freeway Ford. The outside of the envelope is marked with phrases including
Important Toyota Recall Info Enclosed,
Important Information About Your Vehicle and
Please Open Immediately. The return address is labeled
Automotive Administration Center and includes the Toyota and Scion logos.
The enclosed letter is on Ford Motor Company letterhead, includes the text
Vehicle Acquisition Notice and gives the address of Freeway Ford in Houston. The letter states that Freeway Ford has identified the recipient as a Toyota recall candidate and that the dealership will buy the Toyota vehicle and apply that money towards the purchase of a Ford vehicle.
